Franchulates are a combination of “franchise” and “consulate”: private corporations which have replaced the State in all its functions, competing with each other to provide goods and services. In this self-regulating society, the Constitution is disrupted and citizens have no rights; the State is reduced to a hollow entity with no real power; private companies behave as government agencies, and citizenship is reduced to business membership and brand loyalty.
